Chelsea submit first offer for Fermín López, but Barca stand firm

Chelsea have made their move for Barcelona midfielder Fermín López, tabling a €50 million bid plus bonuses, according to Mundo Deportivo. Although the London club is eager to secure his services, López has yet to give the green light to the proposal.

Barcelona’s Firm Stance: “Not for Sale”

Barcelona have no intention of parting ways with the 21-year-old talent from El Campillo. Vice President Rafa Yuste reaffirmed this after the Champions League draw, stating: “Fermín has a contract with the club and we are very happy with him.”

Price Tag Rises to €90 Million

While Barça initially valued Fermín’s potential exit at around €70 million, the figure has now been raised to €90 million. The steep valuation underscores the club’s determination to keep one of their breakout stars, who played a pivotal role in last season’s domestic treble.

The Decision Lies with Fermín and Chelsea

For now, the ball is in Fermín’s and Chelsea’s court. Barcelona officials, including coach Hansi Flick and sporting director Deco, do not want to lose the midfielder. However, they are open to considering an exit, but only if an “irresistible offer” arrives and if Fermín himself pushes for the move.
